amplifying your voice

The Global Justice Media Project (G-JUMP) is the right media strategy for the global justice movement and the right press plan for non-profit organizations that work for a better world by ending global inequity, improving the lives of people in the poorest countries, and working to promote sustainable, people-centered foreign and domestic policy. g-jump is a plan to advance your organization, and the movement as a whole, through providing you with the press help and expertise you need – at a price that will make your funders smile!

G-JUMP clients receive a wealth of services and benefits for a fraction of what campaign media consulting service packages usually cost.

Lacy MacAuley will be your G-JUMP coordinator, and Sarah Massey will also manage the project. Members of G-JUMP benefit from Lacy’s five years as a part of the global justice movement and her academic background in International Relations and World Development Studies and Sarah’s 15 years of media relations strategy development.

Highest level media consulting advice in the early and late stages of your campaigns: you receive five hours of G-JUMP discussions and meetings with a coordinator to help you craft communications plans for your campaigns (6 hours/month)

Ongoing consulting on media relations strategy for your organization's campaigns: the G-JUMP coordinator will meet with you and your communications team on a weekly basis. (4 hours/month)

Capacity building media trainings and empowerment for your staff: you will receive a once-a-month capacity-building training from a G-JUMP coordinator for six months. (one hour/month)

Ongoing messaging and media strategy coordination: the G-JUMP coordinator will share winning messaging across the movement, as well as advice on press timeliness and media actions through a bi-weekly call with G-JUMP clients. (two hours/month)

Expert reviews and editing of your press releases, advisories, pitch scripts, and more: the G-JUMP coordinator will edit your media materials for up to two-hours a week (8 hours/month).

Two blog posts and one personal narrative about your campaign per month written by a G-JUMP staffer for globaljusticemedia.com. (8 hours/month)

As a G-JUMP participant, you will receive access to Massey Media's robust global justice press list, updated daily! Massey Media works with the press that covers global economic issues. We will add our intelligence and information on what the press covers and how to pitch them.

G-JUMP offers a media relations hub and online tools at globaljusticemedia.com

The secure website for G-JUMP clients offers information available only to G-JUMP participants: press lists, global justice calendar of events, and contact information for participants. Additionally, information that can be used for capacity-building will be housed online for you, such as media messages, power point presentations, training videos, and so forth.

online hub

The public side of globaljusticemedia.com is an online newsroom for the g-jump program with press hits, blog stories, and selected press releases and statements. Client-driven content and messaging and points of interest in a timely manner on global justice issues. Also presented will be stories of people whose lives have been impacted by trade agreements, neoliberalism policies, rural-to-urban and across-border migration, and bad corporate practices.

This online hub will serve as a Talking Points Memo for global justice. It will present examples to global justice organizations and to the press of how to cover global justice issues – what language to use, how to think about these issues, and what images to present.
